The last Tall Ships

As postcards started to become familiar as a medium to send news, the tall ships started to die out. Postcards remain to show these three-masted, but also sometimes four or more, like the five-masted barque France, built in Bordeaux in 1911, which used to be the greatest Tall Ship. This famous tall ship used to sail from France to New-Caledonia for commercial trades and particularly the transportation of nickel ore. The five masted finally ran aground in 1922 on the Caledonian reef where fragments can still be seen nowadays.
